Mission Statement

AVID's mission is to close the opportunity gap by preparing all students for college and career readiness and success in a global society. This is accomplished by providing students with the necessary academic and social skills to succeed in rigorous courses, apply for college, and become active participants in their communities and the world.

AVID is for students that want to prepare themselves for college. This is accomplished by giving the skills and mindset on what college will expect. We visit college campuses and take other trips to bridge the gap from high school to college attendance. Students need to be motivated to improve their skills, prepare for college,  and they need to be accountable for their grades and their work. AVID is more for students that are average to above average in their grades rather than honor students so that these students get extra support to attend higher education. If there are any 7th graders interested in having AVID as a class, please see Ms. Moreno.
